My Story

I went to the coast for a weekend escape to do some recharging and reflecting on my business as a professional organizer and habit coach. The view was amazing! Over breakfast, I was talking to the host, and asked how he wasn’t distracted by such an amazing view at work. His reply, “I live here.” “I know you live in the area but this particular view is stunning,” I answered. He went on to explain that he lived on the property and his apartment had the same view. Immediately, two questions came to mind: how come my guidance counselor didn’t tell me innkeeping still existed and how do you even find this kind of job?

Talking some more, I found out that he and his wife were moving back east to take care of an elderly parent. The inn did have a replacement contracted, but due to health reasons of the parent, the time table was being moved forward creating a gap. He said I could apply to cover the gap. All the way home, I played the “what if” game in my head, and by the time I got home, I figured why not.

I ended up getting the contract. Loved it so much that when it was done (November 2023), I decided to do some research and see what I could come up with in the new year. A month long of dialing inn owners and resources, gathering information, I found CABBI and their Aspiring Innkeepers Workshop. One step lead to another, and here I am, a traveling innkeeper helping inn owners take time for themselves, cover gaps for emergencies, and an extra set of hands for big events.

I get to travel, explore, connect with people, collaborate, and follow a passion of mine. I bring a unique set of skills and values to my work helping those who do so much to help others recharge and relax. We all need a break every now and then and now Innkeepers have a resource they know they can trust to take care of their business while they take care of themselves.
